Our friend Peggy organized another "Friendsgiving" this year on Sunday, in advance of Thanksgiving, with the theme of "Stranger Foods." We adults and parents hung out and chatted in Redwood Park while the kids played on the playground and in the woods (another salamander was caught but released).
People contributed some pretty interesting items-- Heather made some black bean brownies and tofu/chocolate mousse. Peggy made some vegan banana peel "meatballs" and PB-pickle sandwiches.
I contributed a good-ol' "Jello Salad" from a Lutheran Church cookbook (as I was always amazed what midwesterners considered "salad." I actually detest jello but the kids ate it up).
Jenna's ruffles-krispy-treats were a big hit!
I didn't get any pictures of actual people for the event, but it was a lovely (but cold) afternoon connecting over some truly strange foods!
