West Virginia

For some reason, one of Niall's absolutely favorite songs is Country Roads (and specifically the John Denver version, lest "Alexa" play the wrong one which he can identify immediately).  Here's a little video (if it uploads-- my computer has had some issues lately uploading my videos) of his (shyer than normal) singing. 

We've been indoors a bit more lately, due to our biggest local COVID surge to date and smoky air.  We have a USA puzzle that was mine when I was a kid (with all states intact, amazingly not lost!). I remember the stories my parents told about me (at around age three) running around with the two cutest hand-sized states, West Virginia and South Carolina, in my little fists.

Here's the next generation doing the same at around the same age, along with his karaoke mic. 

I'm not remotely fan of West Virginia's political culture and, despite some lovely scenery in the Shenandoah Valley and it being close to my parents' home, I don't think we'll make it there anytime soon.

For now, we'll romanticize it via Country Roads...
