We haven't had too much to celebrate lately in these parts. Delta is surging and all parents and healthcare workers (particularly me) are pretty exhausted and demoralized (working way too much/hard and feeling like what we do, i.e. preventative medicine counseling, is often futile).
Nevertheless, this week we celebrated our little doggie turning eleven! She's had various health scares this year, including seizures and a recent traumatic neighborhood dog bite and is on chronic medications (prednisone) for her skin. She's more into sleeping than going out for walks (and doesn't like the fact that it's getting warmer here) but still loves to be near us and around us and is so excited when the kids come home from school.
We celebrated eleven with hugs, pictures, and some special dog treats. We don't know how many more months (or years) we have with her but eleven is pretty good and we'll continue to spoil her!
