My parents have been in town on their annual spring (escaping northern VA late-winter) trip to CA for the past couple of weeks. While it's been raining a good deal, as it often does in Humboldt County (except for this glorious Saturday), and we haven't done much outside our normal weekday-grind routine, it's been so helpful to have them here to help with entertaining kids, walking Pepper, cooking, and clean-up, given a very busy call weekend for me and an out-of-town conference for Kelvin, which would have left us sequentially each essentially single-parenting!
When I was stuck at the birth center most of last weekend and Iver had a school parents' night out, my parents and Kelvin (and Niall, apparently) enjoyed a nice dinner at Arcata's (rather fancy) Campground restaurant. While not really a "kiddie-friendly" place, he did extremely well and ate a lot!
The kids have enjoyed reading, doing art, and playing games with the grandparents.

Niall (who everyone thinks resembles my dad more than he does anyone in our family) enjoyed stealing blueberries from Grandpa's post-dinner snack.
The kids' school put on a Spring Carnival (for fundraising for a teacher conference) which Iver was looking forward to all week. We had lovely sunny weather to enjoy the festivities, which included a bounce house, food, and games.
(apparently all my children love hot cheetos, which I craved while pregnant!)
