Kenn and Lisa have a block full of young parents, and organized a special Christmas outdoors block party on Sunday, where Santa made an appearance!
Niall was a bit grumpy after a late afternoon nap, but we still got some pretty cute photos with Santa (who "was probably fake because he was too skinny!" said Iver & Niall).
Klian, without any Santa fear, was quite the ham!
Santa even "delivered" gifts to the neighborhood kids, which was cute.

Leaving Humboldt County the week before Christmas made it difficult to get our "Christmas light viewing" in. Kenn told us about a church in Lake Forest with a huge (and free!) outdoors Christmas lights display and we (along with K's parents) caught it on Sunday night. It was lovely, with beautiful displays (including a shadow nativity play), fake snow, free hot cocoa, and music.

I sometimes struggle with the holiday spirit both because of December parenting "festive stress" and because California 65-degree weather somehow makes Christmas seem less Christmas-y, but these SoCal lights really helped get me there!
