There is a roller rink in Blue Lake, the town east of us, with $5 drop-in family skate Sunday afternoons. This past weekend, we (and Gloria) thought we'd see what Iver thought of it!
They had a kiddie skate area for beginners, where we spent most of the time.
We wish we'd remembered his bike helmet as part of his PPE (personal protective equipment)-- next time!
Despite the smiling pictures, he wasn't too much of a fan of "skating" (falling), as this was very new (and hard) for him, but maybe at some point will want to go back.
I hadn't been on roller skates in about 15-20 years (I think), but took a few laps around the big rink.
We just learned from Mark that McKinleyville Activity Center also has monthly skate nights, so maybe we'll do some more family skating in our near future.
