We made a spontaneous trip to Krka National Park about halfway from Split to Zadar, fearing that we'd get rained out of Plitvice.
The park was extremely easy to navigate (even with a stroller), with well-maintained paths and beautiful cascades.
The Skradinski buk waterfall, the longest waterfall on the Krka River, was the highlight, which we enjoyed viewing from multiple angles.
You can even swim (at your own risk) at the base of the falls (we opted not to).
