Stage Kids

 

Last week, the kids were in an all-school (bilingual) production of "El Niño del Mago,"  ("The Magician's Boy") which chronicles a boy's journey though the fantasyland of Nursery Rhymes. As in years past, the play's "narrators" are fourth graders, speaking in English, the leads are fifth graders, and each of the other classes performs a musical number. Iver's classmates were either lobos (wolves) or red riding hoods (Caperucitas). Niall's kinder class and pre-kinder were blackbirds (mirlos). Their videos aren't loading here, but the boys, as well as all of their schoolmates, did a great job with their lines and the music!

On Saturday, we attended a local musical production of Matilda Jr. (which Iver and I had attended a few years ago), especially to support our friends' daughter, Clara, who played the lead!

She did a fantastic job  with her lines, songs (great pitch!), and even a British accent, and the show was a huge success! I have never been one to enjoy being up on stage in front of anyone, and was impressed by this little fearless (almost nine-year-old) lady!
