A summertime to Fieldbrook's Noble Blueberry Farm with our friends Kellie, Mark, and their similarly aged kids has become a Humboldt Tradition. We usually make the visit in July but the blueberry season was later this year and we went this past weekend. With the exception of 2020 due to the COVID lockdown, we have been every year since 2016 (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022)!
Saturday was an exceptionally warm summer day locally (72 degrees or something in McKinleyville!) and Fieldbrook, a bit inland, is even warmer. Kids (and adults) had a great time picking the ripe berries off the bushes (and eating a few) in the sunshine. and chatting, catching up on the almost-over summer. We also spent a few minutes chatting with the owner, who has some pretty interesting ideas, and who seems to remember our visits every year (making some same comments, about "Kelvinator" every year).
