A summertime (July) visit to Noble Blueberry Farm has become a Humboldt Tradition over the past five years, especially with my good friend Kellie's family (here are the links for our 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 visits!)
With the pandemic, we obviously forwent many things in 2020, a visit to this farm (and even seeing our kids together in the past ~18 months!) included.
While our family is still extremely cautious socially outside of childcare with the kids being unvaccinated, we trust the decisions of these pro-vaxx friends and now that California is "open" felt comfortable with an unmasked, outdoor get-together and spent a sunny Sunday afternoon picking blueberries with Kellie and Mark's family. The kids (the pairs born within months of each other [Lincoln and Iver six, Ada/Niall three] have grown up so much and were quite advanced pickers.
Niall had a BLAST picking -- he wouldn't have remembered our last visit, when he was only one, but is a HUGE lover of blueberries (I'm sure a ton were eaten straight from the bushes!). He didn't want to take his hands off our bounty!
We are hopeful that we can continue this tradition in 2022 and beyond. What a sweet flashback it was to look at past years' photos of our munchkins, and how fun it will be to have many more years' worth of blueberry photos as all of our kids continue to grow (and assuming no more disruptive global pandemics)!
