We have loved our time on the Trinity River this and last summer. Our friend and colleague Malia recently purchased a home with direct river access in Salyer, about an hour east of us, and invited a few families associated with the APC (PA/NP) residency out to swim on Saturday. It was our first social gathering with non-family in a long time, and it was such a sweet spot to spend a morning.

The water was definitely warm enough to swim in. The kids (and I) enjoyed floating in the inner tube.
There was a pretty good current for "rafting".
Patricia was recruited to paddleboard the kids around (Nadine, Malia's daughter, joined too).
They had to move the paddle board once they reached the other side as the current was pushing them downstream.
When we returned up to the house to head home, we were side-tracked by a bounce house!
Now Kelvin wants a home on the river and the kids want a backyard bounce house!
We're lucky to have friends with such amenities!
