Gloria and Jovita are two sisters who have been amazing childcare teachers for both of our kids over the years and are incredibly dear to our family, having literally watched our boys grow up(/raised them!). Gloria has watched over both boys in their toddler room (and now spends some time in preschool with Niall). Jovita has been one of the main teachers supervising the "Kinder" childcare room this past year during the COVID public school closure. They have both babysat for us during childcare closure days, weekends, sick days, and even COVID quarantines.
It's Jovita's birthday this week and she asked if it would be okay if she and her sister Gloria could visit the Sequoia Zoo and the new Redwood Skywalk with our boys. It was my on-call weekend, but we readily agreed for them to go with the kids themselves and sent them with snacks and money for lunch. It's great to feel safer opening up our weekend socializing, even though the zoo is still requiring masks.

The kids had a BLAST (the ice cream treat at the end at the Zoo cafe was a bonus!) and can't wait to hang out with "the sisters" again!
We're so lucky to have people in our life like Gloria and Jovita who truly love our boys and whom we trust fully to watch them when we can't or are working. I think they'll be part of our lives long after our kids "graduate" from childcare!
