Trilliums on the Trail

We have gone on sooo many local walks and hikes in the last year (and counting).  My friend Karen told us that there's a short local trail with Trillium flowers blooming right now and we checked it out today.  We didn't even know this trail (Lynn Vietor Nature Trail) near the Humboldt Area Foundation (off Indianola Road) existed, but it was a very accessible, lovely, quiet, and dog-friendly walk in the woods (and it was very exciting to see a new place!).  I actually know next-to-nothing about Trillium plants, but we have many local places (including our birth center) named after the local temperate flower, and they sure are pretty!

There were many lovely trailside flowers to photograph and admire. We've lived in this area for almost ten years and I've never seen so many of these flowers!
