Up Up and Away!

Kelvin's family-- Kenn, Lisa (& Kingston), Katherine, and Dad came up this weekend to Humboldt to visit us.

It's been so fun to see Iver and Kingston (born sixteen days apart) together, for the first time since their 3-month baptism.

While we were at work today, Kelvin's siblings and parents took the little ones and staged some "aviator"/ hot hair balloon photos at our neighborhood park, for a surprise for us when we got home. Aren't these photos by Kenn awesome?!?! What a great gift it is to have them here, and to have these images. I sorted through the 300+ photos to post the best of the lot. Enjoy the cuteness (I'm sure more cute photos will follow this weekend!)

It wasn't all happy times!

I love this one (doesn't Kingston look so innocent?)!

Even Pep got in on some basket action (and got to wear a matching onesie, too)!

Trying to escape!

Little Aviator

I think this is when Iver's naptime was supposed to start (but he was too busy modeling)

Furbaby is five!

There was no cake or special meat-biscuits (we did sneak some snacks into her breakfast), but we did a morning photoshoot to celebrate Pepper's (our first child) turning five.

We are so lucky that this little lady (16 months old when we got her) came into our lives in late 2011.
She is a loving, loyal, protective companion who has really changed our lives for the better (and made us into responsible parents!). When I hear of friends or family losing their pets, I tear up because, even though Pep is only five and we hope to have many more years (?decades) with her, I know that losing her will be devastating.

This morning, she was surprisingly tolerant of our photo-taking...

... while Iver has a much harder time sitting still, for photos or otherwise!

blocks toppling over...

Look at our patient little pup!

Pepper is such a sweet "big sister." While Iver is crawling around everywhere, trying to grab her tail and climb on her, she sometimes escapes but, more often than not, tries to lick his face and feet. She also tends to come into his *room* to watch over him while he's sleeping (or crying).

She will always be our *first* baby and the best big sister our little guy could ask for.

I think that 4-5 years between children is a good gap.  We have that ;)

P.S. Our landlord told us today that, if you go on google maps and click street view for our house, you will see our little Pepper as the "doggie in the window."!
