We recently learned that our friends, the Spellmeyers, are leaving the area next month to move to Washington state. Pat and Beth's girls (Sophia/Olivia) are competitive athletes, and the travel time around CA for swim and track meets was getting to be too much. We have had so many fun times and trips with this crew, and will miss them dearly! Sarah and Tito hosted a small goodbye party for them this past weekend and their lovely home in Bayside, where we enjoyed lawn games, yummy pizzas in their oven, and time around their outdoor fire pit!

In May 2025, we spent (without Pat) a weekend near Klamath, OR and to Lava Beds National Monument and Tule Lake in way Northern California, which included some spelunking.
How time flies, and how kids grow (2022 vs 2025)!
While I used to be the one "leaving" when we moved so often when I was growing up, it's more odd to be the ones who are "left" (behind). We're hoping these great people remember their Humboldt roots and come back to visit! We'll be about 8 hours (by car) away so we may have some OR/WA road trips in our future.
