Beach Therapy

When we can't go anywhere, or see anyone, we go to the beach.  Fall/winter strolls on the northern California coast aren't particularly warm, but we still feel blessed to have the option of remote coastline just minutes from our house.

Last weekend, we returned to Clam Beach Overlook and saw a huge (maybe 50-60!) pod(/colony/herd/bob) of seals lounging on the sand (we saw a few in the water, too!).

Iver thought they looked like "fish" at the distance!

We wandered all the way down to the beach.

It was a cool day, but the kids (particularly Iver, who is very into reptiles these days) were excited to see "sea snakes" (seaweed)...

... and lots of sand dollars, which were a new sighting.

Swimming seals

This weekend, we spent some time on Saturday and Sunday mornings at Moonstone Beach in Trinidad. It was surprisingly warm and less windy than usual.

Day 2 included some rock climbing

Our ocean and beaches are truly balm for the soul in these times. We're so lucky to have the option of  this free beach therapy so close to us!
