We came down to Orange County this weekend so Kelvin could do some recruiting at a conference in LA (and see family, of course).
As an early birthday present for me, Kelvin arranged for his parents and sisters to take care of Iver so we could have a 24-hour-or so date and spend the night in LA before his conference. I've stopped feeling guilty about such parenting "breaks," especially since Iver is in such good hands and because it's so good for our marriage, spirits, and sanity!
Biking around Westwood, his old UCLA stomping ground, on a lovely warm fall California day.
We had a delicious Bibibop dinner of Korean food.
We then headed to the Pantages Theater to watch the musical Hamilton!
Although the show ended close to 11 p.m, waaaay past my usual bedtime, it was really entertaining, with great acting, storytelling, and songs, and I managed to stay awake!
We were able to stay in bed at our hotel until a glorious 8 a.m., and I had some free time to exercise, read, and shop before we headed back to OC.
Iver had an awesome time with grandparents, Kingston, and aunties (and didn't fear we wouldn't return from "Iceland").
