Eddie really wanted to get some Redwoods pictures and since we've taken the family to the Avenue of the Giants stretch of 101 south of us before, this time, we ventured north to Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park north of Orick. While Kelvin, Pep, and I have done many hikes/walks in this park, we hadn't ventured there with Iver (before this weekend), because 40-or-so minutes (one-way) in the car with a carseat-hating toddler isn't particularly enjoyable. However, with "co" (aunt) Katherine to help entertain him in the backseat, he behaved really well, and there wasn't much screaming!
We all really enjoyed seeing, walking amongst, and photographing the "Big Trees" (Eddie took all of the awesome photos).
We had hoped to see the big Roosevelt Elk herd, but they were not to be found at "Elk Meadow" (we actually saw them near Big Lagoon on the drive home!
We did see some roadside deer just off of Newton Drury Scenic Parkway.
