Spectacular powder!

Jeremy, Noelle, and I drove up to Tahoe to ski/snowboard last Saturday (I was able to get my jeopardy covered-- yay!, and Jeremy's mom watched baby Kacey for thd day!). While the drive up took a long time-- there was rain, slow traffic, we saw signs for mandatory tire chains and so put ours on, but then realized the road was too good for chains, and took them off, we made it (about 3.5 hours after departing-- normally takes less than 2 hours) to Northstar by a little after noon.

Since we have been having nothing but RAIN in Sac for about 2 weeks, we figured there would be excellent powder up there in Tahoe. There was (about 10 feet of it!). Tons of other people had our same thought.

The lifts were a bit crowded, although the slopes weren't too bad. Although with only a half-day, we didn't get tons of skiing in and it was a bit cold (20s), it was perhaps the best snow I have ever been on. I mainly stuck on groomed blues, but maybe could have dared a black diamond because the conditions were so great (maybe next time :)). Noelle, in her first time back on her snowboard after having baby Kacey last year, did great, and Jeremy attempted the moguls on skis, which he hasn't been on in 7 years (Phi has converted him to a snowboarder)!

It was such fun being out there, as well as hanging out in the car with Jeremy and Noelle, singing Glee songs the whole way there and back, and catching up on their lives :)

We'll see if I can go skiing again this weekend before the Asia trip in February, as I'll be gone and missing out on a big ski month. At least I'm not on jeopardy anymore!
