Just a note, since I have not much else new to report on:
Biking home from urgent care in the dark (albeit with a bike light) + very klutzy, oblivious (most of the time) girl + EXTREMELY LARGE pile of raked leaves in the road = ..... (I think you can figure it out).
At least I didn't tear a hole in the knee of my pants. I also got a lot of sympathy from a pedestrian walking her little dog. My shoulder HURTS, though!
This makes only one fall off this bike. My last prior run-in with a stationary object included running into (at very low speed) a trash can in the bike lane (also in the dark).
Why do people do this to me??! :)

maybe you need a brighter light?? :-) glad you weren't hurt too bad.
I'm not optimistic that the brighter light would help.

wendi is, unfortunately, right. i almost did it the next day, too! it was a poorly lit area, i swear!! :)
