The North Coast

We took advantage of our beautiful weather and did some more beach walking during Kelvin's siblings' visit.

We headed to College Cove on Sunday for a sunny but windy walk along the cliffs; gotta love Trinidad for its hikes and views.

On Monday afternoon, we took the family to Samoa Dunes, one of our (also Pep and now Iver's) favorite spots.

The North Coast is so pretty.  I would love temperatures about 20 degrees warmer for our beach time, but we'll take it.

Full of Apples!

On Sunday, we had a yummy apple-filled day. On Kellie's recommendation, we checked out Fieldbrook Valley Apple Farms, where we (especially Iver!) enjoyed filling up our bucket with fallen apples (we were instructed to not pick the ones on the trees!), making juice (?cider) with the press, and taking some scenic family photos (thanks again, Eddie!). The farm has been open since the 1990s and grows over 50 varieties of apples, which are "in season" somewhere from August to November.

After apple-picking, we headed to downtown Arcata to check out BitterSweet, a (relatively? We don't get out much) Cider place, which also had slices of Humboldt Pie.

We loved the rustic/vintage decor, including the sign stating that "Well behaved children are welcome; all others will be made into pie."

We enjoyed both cider and pie!. Mmm. 

It was an awesome apple-filled day!
