Three years later: UCD Reunion

It's hard to believe that it's been almost exactly three years since we graduated residency (July 1 is the date that new residents came in each year to relieve us!)  Wai Kiu and Hanh hosted an awesome UC Davis Family Medicine reunion on Saturday where we got to reconnect from many of our former colleagues/residents, some of whom we haven't seen since 2011!  There was a great turnout, from many people who live in the large Bay Area, as well as some people who drove from Sacramento and beyond.

At the end of the evening, Sophia became intrigued with a keg that Brad brought!

 

It was such a nice evening to reconnect-- a lot has happened and families have changed (grown) since residency. We're all living "real" life (albeit still busy) now!

Friday in Frisco

Kelvin's grandfather immigrated from Vietnam in April to live in Texas and has been visiting California for the last few weeks.  We were able to drive down to the Bay Area this weekend to meet up with him and K's parents and show him around (the last time we saw him was in Vietnam in 2010)!

This picture, stolen from an acquaintance's FB page, summarizes pretty well how I feel about watching soccer (which is, in my opinion, the worst sport in the history of the world although I know some many strange people disagree).  In other news, IT'S WIMBLEDON TIME (thank goodness there is a worthy sport to watch now that the NBA finals are over, and to dilute out the hours of FIFA craziness)!

Sand, Sun, and Seafood!

Serena, Brad, and Shabu came up to Humboldt this weekend to enjoy Oysterfest and some great seafood (and weather) with us!

We enjoyed our time at the beach.... here is the Manila Dunes.

We all love Oysters, and the Plaza Oysterfest, despite the crowds (it is one of the most popular food fests in CA!) was well worth it! The last time we were there was in 2012.
