My parents last visited us on their annual trip in March of 2020, and escaped back home to Virginia just before our world shut down. We hadn't seen them since, until this week! How special it was to welcome my vaccinated Mom and Dad here to see the kids for Mother's Day weekend. Their journey included flights totaling almost 3000 miles, a six-hour layover in San Francisco (thanks to United Airlines changing itineraries on them), and an even later-than-expected arrival due to a medical emergency just prior to take-off from SFO, but it was worth it!
Iver had been busy with card-making.
I got lots of homemade gifts! Iver had asked me what my favorite fruit was and he stuck a piece of dried mango in a homemade box for me! The gifts were delivered promply and eagerly at 6 a.m.!
Kelvin gave me a sweater and "Rosé All Day" wine gummies.

My sister Vanessa sent this succulent, which I hope to keep alive! (candle also made by Niall at preschool).
They've really enjoyed time at home, playing games and reading. The kids have changed so much since my parents' last visit.
Brief trip to the beach
To all of you out there being moms (in an exceptionally hard parenting season), celebrating your moms, missing moms, wishing you were moms, or serving as honorary moms, I am thinking of you. Happy Mother's Day to all!
