Insult to injury

When your kid has basically been out of school for the entire school year due to the school's choice in handling COVID, just back after two recent quarantines for one week at five half-days per week, what else can you do but laugh when you get an early-morning text (as well as a broadcast phone call and three e-mails in case you didn't get the first messages) telling you school is closed due to no water pressure.

(The chromebooks, which we gleefully returned and to which we said good-bye [and good riddance] last week, will need to be picked up again from campus, in case the water situation isn't remedied for the near future, for more potential "distance learning" school.  This is happening with three weeks left to go in an unimaginably disruptive and disappointing year).

Thank God for our reliable paid childcare center (due to the maddeningly complete unreliability of our local school this year).  However, at this point, I would literally send my kid to school even with clogged toilets and no running water (don't we have more than enough hoarded hand sanitizer at this point?!).  How much crappier of a year could it be?
