The Finish Line!

The kids had a great finish to the 2024 Cross-Country Season.

Coach Kristin was out of town for the Hammond Trail (Hiller Park) race, but the Fuente kids did super well! Kerry helped lead the warm-up and I helped with getting the stickers organized :)

Niall had a wonderful race, finishing his (0.8 miles) a nose ahead of friend Ivan (6:27) and 11th overall for K-2 boys (race results here)!

Iver also had a great race, finishing 6th overall for 3-5th boys (3rd for 4th graders), 1.6 miles in ~8:54 just ahead of bud, Hudson!

The Championships were this past Thursday. Both kids were excited to compete!

Niall ran a strong (independent) 1 mile in 8:16, over a minute off his time (9:31) last year, when I ran alongside him.

Ivan finished just ahead and won a medal!

Niall was again 6th in the county for 1st grade boys :)

 

Iver (2 miles in 13:20) also had a strong race, also shaving >1.5 minutes off last year's time (14:46).

He passed Olivia shortly after this (Sean's photos).

... but finished strong!

The Fuente 3-5th boys got team first place!!!!

Iver came away in 4th place for 4th grade boys, just missing the podium (Hudson won second!) and ninth overall!
