Happy Easter!
Iver does know the real reason we celebrate Easter, and we did celebrate with Mass.
However, this past Holy Week was filled with many secular egg- and spring-related activities in town (and we welcomed nasty allergy season for me!) so this is a photo-filled post.
My parents were here until Monday. Last weekend, we dyed eggs, which was a first (as a mom) for this very un-crafty mom.
(Iver only wanted to dye four eggs but there were six colors in the kit, so the last egg had three colors [which, unsurprisingly, when mixed together made a lovely brown]!)
The kids colored eggs and also had a little egg hunt at preschool on Friday.
On Saturday, we did two Egg Hunts.
First, we went to my community hospital's festivities (last year, we arrived too late to really participate, and thus had to stage a backyard hunt).
Iver, at the top of his 0-3 age group, fared quite well!
Truth.
Getting a "Cheese!" out of this kid is challenging!
We then stopped at McKinleyville's Easter celebration.
While the hospital bunny is pretty creepy, he did want to get close to these bunnies!
Blessed with beautiful sunny weather, we did another private afternoon Egg Hunt in our yard.
Some eggs were empty, and some had small treats like raisins and fruit snacks.
The Easter Bunny had delivered on Easter morning (last year, bunny was too lazy/tired!). The basket included a preschool sons CD, some fruit snacks, stickers, and magnetic slime.
After church, we participated in a cardboard egg hunt at Kellie and Mark's house!
We enjoyed a yummy brunch, including Kellie's homemade Easter bread.
In other news, Niall is now six weeks and growing well (it seems, at approximately 10 lbs on an informal clothes-on weigh-in last week). He's more alert, with some smiling and 3-hour stretches of sleep at night.
